The original Luminor Sign Co stood on the corner of Old St & City Rd in the East End of London. Itt closed in 1938.
Today Luminor has been re-established with the aim of providing custom design, lettering and sign making to London and beyond.
Ethos
During the 'Golden Era' of design, art departments were full of illustrators and lettering artists working at draftsman's tables, producing wonderful designs by hand before they went to print and screen.
Before vinyl signs arrived in the 1980s, generations of 'sign men' created the visual identities of our cities with hand-painted signs that had an individual character.
At Luminor our aim is simple: to continue the tradition of quality design & sign painting in just the way it used to be made before the advent of digital design.

Boring but Important
We are normally booked up for at least a couple of weeks. Rush jobs are considered at a rush fee rate. We work on a first come first served basis with booking being taken on receipt of a deposit. For us to give you an estimate we will need to know a) where you are b) what you want writing c) The dimensions and surface of the thing to be painted. We try to get back to emails daily between 9-11am, please be patient we are a small business and we are normally painting.
